I have a balls card and there's already stuff on the board. Can I just start a new chain in an empty spot?+
Only if every existing nob on the board is already finished — every shaft and balls edge capped by a head. If anything is still open, you have to extend or close existing nobs first. This is the "no floating balls" rule.
Can I close two heads together with a long shaft chain between them?+
No. A head must trace back to a balls. If a shaft chain has a head on both ends and no balls anywhere on the path, the placement is illegal. This is why "The Four Skin" (#61) is so powerful and so easy to misplay.
A composite card has balls AND a shaft. Doesn't the shaft get balls for free?+
No. The two parts are completely independent. The shaft on a balls+shaft card still has to trace through other cards to reach a real balls edge somewhere else.
How many players?+
2 to 8. 10–20 minutes a round.
What's the age rating?+
Strictly 18+. Innuendo throughout — not explicit imagery, but absolutely not for kids.
